This one-week event was successfully held in Shanghai on July 12th, attracting numerous top digital skills talents, who jointly witnessed the outstanding achievements in the field of digital creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n

A Comprehensive Review of GDSC 2025<\/p>\n\n\n

This competition attracted 18 top-notch contestants from 6 countries and regions. With their passion and pursuit for digital skills, they overcame numerous challenges and gathered in Shanghai to engage in a fierce competition in the field of 3D digital game art.<\/p>\n\n\n

The competition attracted widespread attention in the global digital skills field. Many industry experts gathered in Shanghai to cheer for the contestants. On July 11th, the SIGGRAPH DAY event focused on the cutting-edge technologies in digital graphics, attracting numerous professionals and enthusiasts. Eric Liu, the president of ACM SIGGRAPH Hong Kong Chapter and the chairperson of the game section of SIGGRAPH Asia 2025, Yin Xiaofei, the CG director of Bilibili, Jiang Yudong, an algorithm expert, representatives from Studio 5 in Japan, Honda Makoto, the animation director and 3D director, Mr. Luo Jiren from the technical support department of心动 Network， Amano Kiyoyuki， the creative director and content creator of Kayac Studio in Japan， and Matsumura Shinya， the executive director and 3DCG animation producer of Kayac Studio in Japan， among others， delivered wonderful speeches. They shared the latest industry developments， cutting-edge technologies and innovative concepts， allowing the contestants， experts and attendees to have ample communication， share experiences and expand their networks， and jointly build an open， inclusive and vibrant digital skills community.<\/p>\n\n\n

In the off-site exhibition area, two distinctive games have attracted much attention. “SEDAP!” innovatively combines cooking and fighting to create a new experience of cooperative adventure for two players. Players can not only enjoy the chaotic fun of kitchen collaboration, but also explore the mysterious unknown of the fantastical islands in Southeast Asia, embarking on a dual journey of food and adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n

Another game, “Divine Reckoning”, is adapted from Dante’s “Inferno” of the Divine Comedy. It is a third-person horror shooting game. Players step into the terrifying inferno, facing strange creatures and powerful bosses until they confront Satan. Its unique boss battle mechanism and vast inferno scenes bring a thrilling visual and psychological experience to the players.<\/p>\n\n\n

Off-site promotional booth<\/p>\n\n\n

Apart from the intense competitions, we also arranged a variety of communication activities for the participants and guests. Before the event, we specially organized a one-day tour of Shanghai. During the activity, everyone first visited the office area of a well-known game company, learned about the company’s development history, listened to the sharing of experienced character artists, and had in-depth exchanges with experts.<\/p>\n\n\n

Teacher Training<\/p>\n\n\n

The competition also specially set up a teacher training session, providing a valuable learning and communication platform for digital skills educators. Teacher Liu Xueqian from Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Technician College and Teacher Liu Shiyu from Ningbo Second Technician College, respectively as the base representatives of the 3D Digital Game Art event of the World Skills Competition, shared the training situation of the contestants and the construction experience of the base. Their sharing provided valuable practical guidance and inspiration for other educators. At the same time, Wu Wei from Witas also shared the latest industry trends, enabling the participants to keep abreast of the latest industry developments.<\/p>\n\n\n

Mo Hui Zi from Ningbo, China won the gold medal, Jerick Yap Jieyang from Singapore won the silver medal, and Dong Mengyu from Henan, China won the bronze medal. In addition, Nur insyirah from Singapore, Xie Haiyan and Huang Wen from Guangxi, China, Serene Sim from Singapore, Xie Lianghao from Anhui, China, and Phuriphat Buathon from Thailand respectively won the merit awards.<\/p>\n\n\n
